Busy matchups build faster

Comparisons and Matchup Explorer views against the largest ladder cohorts take less work to build, and returning to one you have already measured against is close to instant.

  • ImprovedMeasuring against a busy matchup no longer gathers more than the view actually needs, so the heaviest cohorts build comfortably and revisiting one you have already used returns almost at once.
  • FixedWhen a ladder comparison cannot be built, the reason is now shown plainly. It previously surfaced as an unreadable error that said nothing about what went wrong.

Watch the games behind a comparison

A comparison now carries the games it was built from, yours on one side and the ladder cohort on the other, ready to open in the viewer.

  • NewA comparison now has a replay viewer beneath it, holding only the games that comparison counted. My Library lists your matching replays and Meta Library lists the ladder games from the cohort you measured against, so a result can be watched rather than only read.
  • NewReopening a saved comparison fills both libraries again from the conditions it was built with, so an old comparison is as watchable as a fresh one. A ladder cohort that is no longer published says so, and your own side keeps working because it never leaves this browser.
  • ChangedHow My Replays works now names connecting your StarCraft: Remastered files as its own step, between attaching replays and generating a report.
  • FixedReplays are now matched to a report by their contents, so the games behind a comparison can be found again later. A replay analyzed before this update joins its comparison once it is analyzed again.

Watch the games behind the numbers

Ladder replays from published reports can now be opened in the viewer, and your own library gains dates, filters, and result breakdowns.

  • NewMatchup Explorer can list the individual games behind a cohort and open any of them in the replay viewer, so a chart can be checked against the games that produced it.
  • NewSelecting a unit or building in the replay viewer now shows a panel over the game with what it is producing or researching, how far along it is, and the upgrades its owner has finished. It can be collapsed, and works in fullscreen.
  • NewThe replay viewer library adds a Meta Library alongside your own, for browsing ladder replays from a published report by matchup, map, and game length.
  • NewReplays now show the date the game was played, read from the replay itself, and can be filtered by when they were played. Refresh your library once to fill in dates for replays added earlier.
  • NewPersonal reports gain the same Result filter as the weekly matchup reports, splitting your charts into all games and the games each race won. Reports made before this update need regenerating to include it.
  • FixedTwo replays side by side no longer crop the game view. Each panel shows the same amount of the map as a single panel does, just smaller.
  • FixedIn fullscreen the playback controls now sit beneath the game rather than on top of it, and the sound, colour, and exit controls are hidden while watching.
  • ChangedReplay sound effects now start switched off.

My Replays opens to everyone

Analyzing your own replays no longer needs an account.

  • ChangedMy Replays no longer asks you to sign up. Everything runs in your browser, so there is no account to create and nothing to store.
  • NewMy Replays opens with a three-step guide: attach and select replays, generate a report, then compare it against top MMR ladder games.
  • ChangedMeta Report accounts are withdrawn for now. Nothing on the site asks you to sign up, and Profile covers the Fantasy League account only.
  • ChangedNatural-language questions in Matchup Explorer are withdrawn for now. The manual query builder is unchanged and stays open to everyone.

More ways to explore the meta

New questions, comparisons, and account tools make Meta Report easier to explore.

  • NewAsk natural-language questions in Matchup Explorer and turn the answers into charts.
  • ImprovedMatchup Explorer adds metric-based conditions, clearer filtering, and more reliable loading from archived reports.
  • NewWeekly matchup reports can now compare all games with the games won by each race.
  • ChangedThe Profile page now brings Fantasy and Meta accounts together and shows monthly usage allowances.
  • NewSupport the Roundup through a secure Stripe-hosted contribution flow.

Meta Report launched

A new way to read the Brood War ladder through replay-derived reports and focused analysis tools.

  • NewReports summarize economy, bases, units, technology, upgrades, spells, and combat for every matchup.
  • NewThe Replay Viewer tab in My Replays plays replay files without uploading game or replay data.
  • NewMatchup Explorer builds analytics with highly customizable map, duration, MMR, result, unit, building, and timing filters, plus multiple chart views.
